BW50K v6.0 - Sunday, November 29, 2015

Join us for the 6th Annual Buckeye Woods 50K Run. This is a free (aka "fat ass") Medina County Road Runners Club event.

The location is Buckeye Woods County Park, and this event will begin promptly at 8:00 AM. Please arrive at least a few minutes early for the pre-race meeting. (We will offer a 7 a.m. early start option for those who require and request it.)

Runners will begin with a 1-mile loop and then traverse the 5-mile circuit around lakes and through woods six times, which totalled makes 31 miles. The route is 95% dirt trails, and flat, flat, flat! Perfect course for a first 50k, or simply a semi-aided long run! No pressure, but lots of support.

Participants who make it as far as 25K, but not as f...ar as 50K will be recognized in the results as having completed a 25K run.

Aid will be limited. Runners should plan to bring their own supplies. If you feel so inclined, bring something to share with other runners. (Last year we had wonderful soup donated to share by the Miller family, and that was heavenly!) We will use the picnic shelter at the start/finish and provide water, energy drink, pop and some sort of food you'd normally see at a real race.

Registration for this event is FREE, but all participants MUST be MCRR members. Non MCRR members who donate $20 or more will be given FREE MCRR membership for one year, and will get to run this event as well!! We are an awesome group of people, who actually DO things as a club... so your membership is totally worth it.

You may RSVP by joining the Facebook event page, OR by emailing me, Suzanne Sharpe, at running2befree@gmail.com.

The pavilion is reserved until 6 p.m., although I ask that everyone shoot to be done by 4 p.m.

Please note that good weather is in NO WAY guaranteed this year -- I made special arrangements for temps in the 50's last November ONLY to soften the blow of taking on my new role of "race director." In fact, plan on frigid temps, biting wind, a foot of snow, and then be thrilled with anything better.
